What Path Should You Follow to Know How to Become an Ophthalmologist? 

There is a collection of phases everyone who wants to become an Ophthalmologist should follow. 

Complete a Bachelor’s Degree: 

In order to start your journey of how to become an Ophthalmologist, you need to pursue a field
of study that encloses pre-med, biology, chemistry, or a related science field.

Complete an Ophthalmology Residency:

Usually, residencies include detailed hands-on training in both diagnosing and curing eye diseases and disorders.
The residents also train on surgical procedures like cataract extraction, laser treatments.
Additionally, the exposure to eye subspecialties is included.
This means that they get exposed to conditions like retina, cornea, pediatrics, neuro-ophthalmology. 

 Pursue a Fellowship: 

While this is optional, it still adds great value to the person who wants to know how to become
an Ophthalmologist. This 1 to 2 years fellowship can be in Glaucoma, Corneal diseases,
pediatric ophthalmology, and oculoplastics.
